About Shubhra:

I’m an international film director, writer and producer. Born in london, brought up in Mumbai and having lived and worked in New York, Barcelona and Berlin, my films tend to be pan-cultural carrying themes of identity, belongingness and the idea of home.

In March 2024, I was invited as a speaker at the European Parliament in Brussels for advocating Filmmakers’ rights in the age of AI. I’ve also been a speaker at India Resilience Summit, California Lutheran a university and Belgrade Tourism University.

My films have won Best film awards and have been screen officially at various International film festivals like Swedish international Film Festival, Paris Play Film Festival, Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival, Mumbai International Film Festival (MAMI) amongst others.

I’m the Director and Co-organiser of the East European – Indian Film Coproduction Conference taking place in Bulgaria. I’ve served as a Juror at the Silafest International Film Festival 2019, 2021. I’ve done my Masters in Film Direction from ESCAC, University of Barcelona.
